Rise of sea levels is 'the greatest lie ever told'

This coming from the former chairman of the INQUA International Commission on Sea Level Change. This guy has spent the last 35 years in the field studying ocean levels, not just relying on computer models

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/c...ever-told.html

Despite fluctuations down as well as up, "the sea is not rising," he says. "It hasn't risen in 50 years." If there is any rise this century it will "not be more than 10cm (four inches), with an uncertainty of plus or minus 10cm". And quite apart from examining the hard evidence, he says, the elementary laws of physics (latent heat needed to melt ice) tell us that the apocalypse conjured up by
Al Gore and Co could not possibly come about.

for every article that disproves it, there is an article that proves it...

And every year that goes by, more and more Scientists care less about losing funding and grants so they voice up and agree this is all scare tactics...

I gues the most inmportant thing from the article I posted is the line "It hasn't risen in 50 years" ...that's a fact not generated by some computer model

The Telegraph is not a credible source, Dizz.

Find out what the Archimedes Principle is. I mean we know for a fact that ice is falling off of Greenland and the North Pole into the sea. The sea has to displace, this is a fact.

But I keep hearing varied stories of how high the sea will raise. The sea will rise, but it might only be by about 15-30 cm by the end of the century.

That might be true, but it doesn't have any effect on who is in the article and what he says

As early as 1million years ago, there were no ice caps on greenland but forests. If they melt, does that just mean that the sea levels will return to their normal levels?

Yes, that was when Earth was a "Hot House". You might want to check out how much higher sea levels were then. A lot of land masses were swamps.
