should I see a Dr.
I'm 45 been in the gym 30 years. Ive done a few cycles over the past 20 years. I'm not on anything right now. I'm 215 lbs 9 or 10% body fat. My problem is my forearms. they feel constantly as if they are sore from a workout. it hurts to pick up weight. at night if I sleep with my arms bent they will go to sleep.( start tingling) When I go to the gym say on arms day It hurts like hell to do light curls but after I warm up and do a few sets of light curls of about 20 reps the pain goes away and I can do heavy sets but after a three sets of light weight of 20 reps I pretty much exhausted for heavy sets. the pain seems to be mostly just below the elbow in the tendons almost at the ligament. I can press on the tendons and where the pain is. it is not in the joints. I have not tried any pain relievers aspirin or ibuprofen. but I think that is just a temporary solution. I thought it might go away but it seems to be permanent. it has been two months now. any suggestions on where I might read up on this? I feel if I go the Dr. he will just prescribe something and I don't feel that is the solution. Or he may say surgery and I that is not a acceptable at this time. What say you?

My opinion...not sure the two issues (pain and numbness) are related.
Before i started cycling i had a period of what sounds like similar forearm pain. Dr diagnosed tendonitis and prescribed anti-inflammatories. Got so bad i had to lay off workouts for a couple months. It took maybe 4-5 months to fully recover. Has not reocurred since.
On the forearm tingling/numbness, ever since i did my first cycle my forearms very often "go to sleep". Not only when i am sleeping, but when reading, at the computer etc. Never had this until i started cycling.

sounds like the same as me. It started after my last cycle. It was my first cycle with tren and this problem started as soon as that cycle ended. I do believe the two are related as I can be on the computer or reading and the tingling begins I can straighten my arm and I feel the pain and the tingling go away at the same time. what happens is the pain of straightening the arm makes the tingling go away. Thanks for the response. BTW just out of curiosity, what did the Dr. prescribe?

Sorry Kaju, was a while back (6 years ago) and i just cant remember the name.
Hope it clears up quicker than it did for me. I found it very hard to workout properly, tried laying off for periods of anything from 1 to 5 weeks. Everytime i went back, same problem. I began to think that I had done permanent damage and that i would never be able to recover. So i laid off completely for around 4-5 months and when i started again, completely recovered and have never had a reoccurance (yet!).
Good luck.

It sounds like you should go to the doc, but have you tried icing? Also, you might want to try ibuprofen for 7-10 days. Ice is a huge part of recovery.

Yea ive been dealing with this for a couple of months now. Last week I srtarted taking 600mg of ibuproren. I take it every 8 hours. It seems to be getting better. Im wearing elastic supports on both arms and using aspricream. all of this together seems to be helping. I havnt stoped going to the gym. I guess I should but Im affraid if I do I will quit all together. I do not want that. If this does not help in another week I will go to the doc. thanks for the advice guys and keep up the good words.

pain
Hey Kaju. I went through similar problems about 2 years ago. Did a couple of cycles with Fina within a six month period. My strength went through the roof but I developed a couple lingering and nagging problems. The first was an always pumped lower back that came with the fina but never left completely. Second was the seemingly the exact type of injury you have described. I tried to work through it for about 4 months and the pain would fluctuate during the week. I also developed the numbness but I'm not sure if they are related. After 4 months of gritting my teeth through every other work-out, I took 2 weeks off, used ice a couple times a day and took some anti inflamatory. Haven't had the pain since. Not saying its fina. I loved the stuff. I would always suggest going to the doc when unsure. Keep us updated on the progress.

it has been ten days since I started the ibuprofen regimen and it is almost well. there is still pain from time to time. If I forget to take the ibuprofen the pain comes back but it is not as bad as it was before I started the ibuprofen. I have backed off in the gym I still go but don't do anything that causes pain. I believe this will be cleared up in a few days.
I just didn't want to go th the Dr. because I was afraid he would want to cut on me. that is the last thing right now. I have heard of people going to the net for answers like this and came out O.K. and I have heard the opposite. anyway thanks for the good words. I like this over forty forum I just wish it was more active.

A buddy of mine had the same problem as you for quite some time, but it eventually went away. I've dealt with sore elbows and joints for several years now, but they've gotten better. Ice, braces, and not doing exercises that irritate the areas really helps and a short course of ibuprofen when needed usually helps. I'm glad to here that you've been feeling better. Going under the knife should be the last option IMO.

I've got this problem right now! I love t-bar rows and dumbell rows, my forarms have got to be doing too much of the work?
My forarms are not big at all, I've pretty much always belived that you have them or you don't, pretty much like calves?
I haven't done any forarm training since highschool, maybe I should.

It seems this tendonitis is more common than I thought. everywhere I turn Im seeing people with tendonitis. On forums, at hte gym, at work.
It has been 9 months for me now it went compleatly away an d a couple of months ago I got new tendonitis in another spot, this one is bad though. I mean real bad I almost cannot even tie my shoe or hold a coffee cup.

Where exactly is the pain mate, i had dreadful problems with pain in the inside of the elbow about 1 inch below the funny bone . The slang name for it is Golfers Elbow as it is common in golfers. Its simply overuse of the forearm muscles and all the tendons collect in this area causing inflamation and scar tissue.I had mine treated in the UK by a rheumatologist with cortisone injections which left me pretty much pain free in two weeks. With plenty of stretching and remedial massage it has stayed away.
