    47 y/o considering HRT/ low dose cycle.

Hi folks, I'm a 47 y/o with all the signs of low testosterone .

I have a few questions about HRT.

I'm going is for a blood test tomorrow. What should I get tested for other than total test, free test and free & weakly bound test?
I'm going to have my HDL, LDL & triglycerides checked as well.

When doing a 100ml Test E (50 x 2) weekly HRT dose, do I need to be concerned about hair loss, shrinking testicles and gyno?

Is a low dose year around cycle of 125-150 mg Test E a good idea?

I'm getting back in shape at the moment.
I'm 6'2" and was 262 lbs, I'm down to 240 lbs now by cutting down on carbs, walking on the tread mill and I've just started back lifting weights.
I used to lift regularly back in the day and I've got the knowledge of how to diet. When it comes to the juice I'm in the learning mode. The only cycle I ever did was back in '86 (Dianabol tabs).

My goals are to be in excellent shape, feel good and have the best physique possible for my genetics at my age. I'd like to weigh about 220 when I'm in shape.

Wait and see what your blood work indicates . Doctor will determine Hrt and amount .

Men have hair loss regardless and such without hrt . its there genetics . Adding test could alter out come . If you still have hair at 47 , I doubt < 200ml / week will change that .
    I am no expert .

Good luck , keep us informed of doctors recommendations

I'm 42, low test, and doing the HRT with Test C 100mg/wk. I am going on HCG for the testes side of things. Arimidex sounds like the best bet for estrogen issues leading to Gyno. Good luck with everything.

Guys, I'll post up the results when I get them tomorrow.

They only test for total Test & Free Test.

Is Test E available in the U.S. by prescription or only Test C ?

Well, I got my results back.
My total Test is 304 and my free Test is 7.4. so I guess I'm going to do some research and locate a good DR to hook me up with a HRT plan.
The bad news is that my cholesterol is high and my ratios are high.
I'm going to get my cholesterol rechecked after I have my weight down and several months of eating properly.
If I can't get my cholesterol within proper limits via diet and exercise I guess I'll have to get some cholesterol meds.
The only other bloods work issues is a high Bilirubin total. Apparently that has something to do with liver function. I'm going to do some research and see what's going on with that.
    My PSA test was low.

Kieth, as a former drinker, I know that the liver tests can be effected with alcohol consumption. If you do drink, STOP. You'll see some major improvements in short time with ALT, AST, Bilirubin with a great diet and exercise program, permitting there's not something else that's keeping your liver from rebounding. That total test count looks to be on the low end of the scale, and I imagine that most of the HRT pros would talk to you about an HRT program.
