Getting back into the swing of things.
A while back I posted I was going to take a break for a a short time (two weeks or so). I was worried I would not be able to get my head back into the game. It has now been two weeks Ive been back into the gym and as I said my head is just not right. I want to be lazy I catch myself saying Ill got to the gym tomorrow, and if I do put it off I catch myself saying Ill go again tomorrow again. Then when I do go to the gym I catch myself not pushing as hard as I should.
I have done this every year, but what I'm seeing is as I age it is harder and harder to get my head back into the swing of things. And to top it off this damn cold weather is not helping at all. This cold weather makes me want to just stay at home in my recliner next to a fireplace.
Not to worry I Will eventually get back into the swing of things, Ive beat this every year for the past 30 year I'm just saying damn it is hard this year.
I'm not going to wus out and thats final.

I laid off abit myself. Not completely, but only to the gym three days per week. It is very hard after eating what you want over the holidays, and cheating a bit. I think its better to give in once in a while to recharge. Yea its hard for us over 40 to get going again, but life is more than the gym as well. Focus on those seasonal people showing up for the new year resolutions. Looking at those fat body's should make you motivated to not look like them.... lol

I often have the same feeling, one way I "try" to beat it is , I go to the gym and limit my reps , my weight , just dont push it. I workout for 30 minutes if I have to , just to get myself into the swing of things.
Maybe take a look at your "after" pics from your last cycle to get yourself motivated.

I was out for six months due to surgery, I should have been out for only 4 months! I took me a while as well, but I looked at my "after" pics as gigibit said and I was ready to go. I picked up an extra 20 Lbs while I was out, so It was no easy task. The best part for me is having a workout partner. We motivate each other on those days and we wont skip the gym because we don't want to disapoint the other guy.

As I've heard it said before, pain is weakness leaving your body.... I think someone on this site quoted that in a post i read.... How true...

Maybe a training partner will help if you can find one? Everyone needs to be pushed from time to time.
