Why is it hard to keep gains

I am 55. Been lifting 10 yrs. 5-11 208 Decent shape. Trying to keep the diet going. Have done about a cycle ayear the last 5 yrs. Test E and Eqi. I am just finishing up a cycle this week. Test E 250 wk Eqi 200 wk. divided in two pins a week. I usually do twice that a wk. pinning twice a week. I went less to see what it will do. I got some gains. Not like before. Strength increased about the same. I have clomid and nolvadex for pct. Is age the reason I lose my gains over time.

Try to get your medical doctor to put you on TRT.

You should just stay on a bump and cruise cycle cajun. At 55, your body will not produce the test levels you want to maintain a muscular body. When you were in your 20's and 30's...yes. But at 55 your natural test production is not high enough.

Also....you genetic body type will determine how much muscle you carry. Mesomorphs have and easier time retaining muscle....ectomorphs not so lucky. However, Meso's tend to get fat....while ectos stay lean.

Also..how heavy are you lifting? Heavy weights tend to keep muscle...light weights tend to lean you out.

    All the above to consider.

my test level are at 640 according to the chart i am in the norm, under 400 is where low t is at, still i had muscles spams and pains related to that, my medical doctor told me that most people who are under 7 and close to 40 have theses pains.

He put me on control TRT at 100mg per 10 days and i feel great, i don't lift heavy anymore because has you grow old i feel its the perfect direction to get injured. I use functional training, diet and high reps with moderate weights, at 39 i rather lose fat and look slimmer then have the big chest and arm look, to each is own i guess. Just offering what did good to me.
