How well do you warm up your shoulders before you work chest? I find now being almost 41 that my shoulders just can't take it like they could in my 20's so I have to spend much more time warming up and stretching.

Maybe try lowering your weights a bit for a while.

What sort of pain is it firstly? Is it like DOMs? Or more like tendon pain? I often get tendon pain between my bicep/forearm if I train too heavy, and let my arms lock out.

    welcome to my world mate!

once you hit the 40+ bracket, you need to readjust your mindset somewhat. No longer is it healthy to think you can workout like a beast, as you did in your 20's. Over these last few years, i"ve learned to tone it down a bit by reducing weight and increasing reps. this will ease your discomfort to a certain degree.

You also need to begin thinking about joint health. I strongly suggest 5 grams of MSM each day, forever. It improves collegen synthesis, promoting joint health.

Additionally, for when you do get hurt, there is TB500. TB500 is a peptide, one of the building blocks of protein, and signifantly promotes healing. it has helped out with my tendonitis and my shoulder pain substantially. Many here will attest to the effectiveness of TB500.

And as always, you need to spend significant time warming up. I pyramid up the weight til i hit max, then do drop sets down to failure.

I hope some of this helps?

    Good luck!
    ---Roman
