    Question Competitions without gear?

Are there any organizations where they don't let you use gear (except for maybe a belt and knee wraps)? Or even better no gear and no drugs? I haven't read any rules about USAPL not allowing gear.
I just ask this because I know I will never juice and I don't ever intend to use gear. I still have great respect for people who do, don't get me wrong. The only thing I've ever used is a belt. I guess I'll start using knee wraps on squat when it gets heavier.
    Thanks for any help!

there are many feds that are raw and natural feds BUT i dont see why you would wana compete in them because all the best lifters regardless of if they use gear will be in the big feds.these little feds are weak and are only for the not 100%committed trainers.why not just compete in the ipf there are plenty of guys who compete raw and look would you rather get beated by every one or win in some joke of a fed?!even if you do find a raw natural fed that you like dont assume the guys dont take drugs as many do
personally i compete in the GPC i have in the past competed in the IPF and my goal is to compete in the WPO....these are the freak feds and i wouldnt be happy competing else where.
    just my opinion!

    Phildude....

I feel you. There are several Raw Feds out there. You will just have to be willing to travel. I'm not sure where you live, but odds are there will not be a great selection in any one area. I too don't care for the Heavy Use of Gear like most organizations have allowed like the WPO, etc. I do compete in the USAPL & IPF. These organizations are about as close to drug free as you're going to get and they really lmit the Gear that can be used. They don't allow double ply anything, no denium, no canvas, no super jacked up squat suits where guys are adding 250-300+ to their squats. IPF & USAPL is about as close to legit as you're going to get as far as drug free and limited gear. I think USAPL does offer a raw division at some meets. let me know if you have anymore questions.

There are quite a few raw federations or federations offering raw divisions: ADAU, 100% Raw, WNPF, NASA, AAU, etc. Check out Powerlifting Watch for meets in your area. Also, here's a chart which gives you a quick look at which federations offer drug tested and unequipped meets.

    Good luck!

there you go thats about all of them, i am pretty sure wnpf, 100% raw, and nasa have meets in your neighborhood, check out ther web sites. also there is the wdfpf and i think the other adfpf(world and american drug free powerlifting federation)

    Phildude,

Why would you assume most powerlifting meets would be on the East Coast or in California? Those are actually the two most Non Active Powerlifting Areas. Powerlifting is Huge in the South....Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, etc. Also very big in the North West like Washington State and Oregon. Not really that active in the Northeast or California. You must have been thinking of body building. LOL>

Sorry I was probably stereotyping, and yes I think I was thinking about bodybuilding also. Thanks for the help and sites again.
