put on a benching shirt for the first time..
there was a guy at the gym today who was on vacation, he was about 5'7, 170 lbs. He was benching 400, it was sick, and i was spotting him the whole time and we got talking about powerlifting and how im weak as balls and whatnot
He had 3 different benching shirts, then he basically made me try one on haha. It was a size 48, so about 3 sizes too small for me because im almost 6'1, 220. So after 15 minutes of throwin that son of a bitch on, i can even move my arms haha i felt like a horrible snowboarding accident patient!
So after it ripped the hell out of my underarms and armpits, i benched 250 like it was candy, but i couldnt do anymore because the fact it was digging into my arms so much the pain was unreal.
yall use benching shirts consistently? im almost contimplating getting one, maybe a size 50?

I tried it one and it was small on me like the one you tried. I felt like a fvcking robot. It was an interesting experience but I cant see the point though, if I am lifting I want it to be all me without help. Well maybe chemical help is OK

it just takes practice... and a little side note... I have been competing for a little over 4 years know (crazy how time flies) anyway... I have been using bench shirts consistently over this time period and my raw bench is stronger than ever! now if you aren't interested in competing that's a better argument to me than it won't help your bench... if competing isn't your thing than ya I think a bench shirt doesn't serve it's real purpose... but if used properly you will handle more weight than ever and trust me if your training efficiently your raw bench can improve and the shirt can be a useful tool in that improvement.

IMO, if you dont plan on competing ever it isnt worth it, if you are considering at some point, than it is worth it.using a shirt is not an ideal way to increase your raw strength, you are better off doing raw board presses and rack lock outs for that. i lifted assisted with the shirt, but train most of the year raw occasionaly putting a shirt on for practice.alot of people now days train with equipment all the time , but they are training for specific contests.if you plan on getting a shirt, i recomend starting with a single ply polly shirt, there are many shirts to choose from, i dont recomend inzer, if you are a flat bencher, try the titan fury, if you are an arched bencher, try the titan f6.

But I dont ever plan on competing (powerlifting), but I do for bodybuilding.
It just felt cool feeling like a robot and not being able to move my arms haha

If you touched your chest in it your first time either it wasn't on right or it is not too small.

SVTMuscle-
If you're 6'1" and 220, I hate to tell you this, but the size 48 was more than likely the right size for you if it was a F6 shirt. I use an F6 size 48 and I'm 6' and wt. 235. Actually, I'm thinking of getting my F6 size 48 custom done so that is is much tighter in the chest. And yes it cuts into your arm pits and under your arms. A good fitting shirt does that. That's just part of the game. Kind of like the whole "No Pain No Gain" saying. Plus, the way the F6 is made, it's no where near as tight as what shirts use to be since it has a "Lose Back". You should have tried the 1st generation shirts that Inzer use to make. The old Inzer High Performance Extra Heavy Duty Blast Shirts use to cut you up all over. Now those where some tight shirts. You couldn't hardly breath in them. You would have to sit w/ your arms proped up on a chair just so it wouldn't wear you out between sets.

Get a denim shirt. Put it on with ease!

If you absolutely have to get one, do yourself a favor and get a single ply unless you plan on competeing. Call up INZER and tell them your exact, unflexed measurements and they will customize it or if you wanna go the cheap way, detemine your size from the sizing chart and snipe one off ebay. The F6 is a shirt for someone that arches hard. If you just wanna go balls to the wall and spend a load of money have Karin make you a double denim.
