Thanks Doc those vids are insane... Makes me want to go deadlift. They make the weight seem easy and I know it is an extrem amount to dead.

I agree, didn't look like he locked out, but then again, I dont watch a lot of powerlifting. What do you competetive powerlifters think?

it isnt locked out, he WOULD have locked it out, but the head judge told him to ut it down, the lift was passed 2 white lights and one red light. mistakes happen in judging, i have gotten an occsional "gift", but i have gotten screwed on bad calls more than i have been given a lift. errors in judging happen, i do rather see the lifter get the lift in error than see a good lift taken away in error.

bolton had this lift, plain and simple, i am glad he didnt get this lift taken away because the head judge told him to but the bar down to early, that would have been a shame. i am sure andy will pull this weight again , and i am sure the next time he will hold it locked out for a good few extra seconds to prove how strong he is and that his lifts are legit.

That makes sense. Watching the video, its clear that the judge gave him the sign to put the weight down. Thanks for your thoughts Doc.

glad you like it, i thoughtimay have been a lttle to opinonated on this matter. i went to a USAPL meet this wknd to help some lifters out and i saw so many good lifts get taken awy from people because the judges all have a bug up their asses. really rubbed me wrong and reminded me why i stoped competeing with IPF rules in the first place. me friend got in troubl because he had a shirt with cut sleaves underneath his singlet(apparently you can wear no shirt at all or a shirt with sleaves but NO cut sleave shirts) when deadlifting!! who fckn cares!!! how does thsi efffect the lift? some rules are just made to be a pain in the ass and break the lifters balls, the usap and ipf are the worst organizations for useless shite like this. they are "lifter unfriendly "organizations.

oo alright thanx. If the judge said it was good then he cant be blamed for putting it down. I think he could of locked out too if there wasnt a premature judging. I dont really wathc many powerlifting competions so i wanted ur guys input

I like Bolton's style cus it's like the one i use personally... It's an enigma.

Gives me hope for getting in the low 800s

    Magnuson.. i love to watch.

To me he's the most enigmatic lifter around.

    Thanks Doc.

JJ is a solid guy, he has pulled 800 or so at 242 to 275 lbs which is really a very very good weight for a BBer let alone a powerlifter!!!! i am sure that an 800lb pull would put him in the top 10 of either weight class or very close. theonly 3 guys i know of pulling 900 and above are the guys inthe videos after that here are not that many guys pulling 800 so it is really an amazing feat of strength overall

    ^

I like JJ personally... Best combination of both worlds imo

On Magnuson: I'd watch him pull all day

I saw some clips of him at a lighter weight and he was as crazy.

Blows my mind everytime he grabs the bar
