CNS question
This is something that has been bothering me for a while, but I cany stop thinking about it.I'll try my best to word the question.
When your CNS crashes, does it effect all of your lifts or just the the lift that you stayed in the maximal %'s on.Example, say you have been benching in the 90% range for 6 wks and then on wk 7 your bench crashes, all the time you were training your bench you were also training your SQ?DL,but keeping the SQ?DL lifts submaximal.Would the SQ?DL crash also do too the overtraining in the bench?
The reason I ask,is that before I really started researching the CNS,I noticed in my past Training Logs, that sometimes, when my bench would peak my SQ would be down, and when my SQ would peak my bench would be down. But I use too train in the 90% range alot then.So from what I collected from the log is that your CNS only crashes the lift that you over trained in not all of your lifts.
Someone please shed some light on this, its one of the missing links on my thoughts of the CNS.

I feel your pain brother...LOL! in my experience rarely have i had all 3 lifts get hit by overtraining... usually only one maybe two. it seems like each training cycle something takes off and other lifts maintain. my deadlift basically stalled out for almost 2 years than all of a sudden in my last training cycle i hit a 765 in training... sux i peaked early because my pull was shit at Sr. Nationals. (705). as you continue on powerlifting you will learn from trial and error how to peak right. (wait a minute i'm still trying to figure that part out...lol) I know my bench can peak in about 4-6 weeks and the squat and deadlift about 6-8 weeks any thing more than that for my is overkill and the numbers will start to back slide. one thing for sure my bench is always affected by heavy squatting... and certain deadlift workouts require me to take the following week off from pulling. it's definitely a trial and error thing... good luck bro you are doing fine sometimes it's EZ to over analyze things you do (i know i'm guilty of that all the time) just keep working hard and stay tuned in to what your body is telling you. good luck bro and keep lifting big!!!Last edited by RJstrong; 08-16-2007 at 04:47 PM.

Thanks RJ,I had NO idea how much the CNS played a role in PL training,I've been competeing for 2yrs now,but been lifting for 16 or more yrs,and started getting into the PLing about 4 yrs ago.I would train to ME every bench SQ and DL day.Untill this year I hadnt paid alot of attention to the CNS,and now that I do,all i can say is WOW.my equiped and raw lifts went up like crazy.
I find my self training alot more mini cycles in partial and full ROM's now.
