    my first meet results

well i finally did it, for those who have seen my posts in the past.....

i competed for my first meet (since age 16, which i don't really count)

it was just a small meet, raw lift only.

i only competed in the bench part. in the 198lb class, my best lift was 445lbs....i feel i might have gotten maybe ten more pounds, but because i had a poor diet to get to 198lb i might have lost alittle max power..

i thank all who have ever given me pointers from the smallest thing to major issues.. it made me feel good to compete. at age 25, i still feel i have alot more room to grow and i want to find bigger major meets with qaulity lifters. this meet was kinda one i just wanted to try it out,

PS.. whats a good warm up for a meet... mine worked but kinda like my crash diet to lose that last 5 pounds, my warm up at the meet was kinda a thrown together idea i came up with at the last min. since i didn't even think about that part until i got ten mins away from my first lift

i don't at the moment.. this meet was just a gym having a meet kinda for fun. i live in a college town (Go Gators!). so most people here work out for fun and thats what the meet really was

i plan to do a 100%raw meet, the past two years they have had two of the best lifters in my class compete at alot of their meets lately

i would like to also try the WPO, i have noticed alot of good lifters doing there big meets now that they have a raw class that they are doing different things with.. my only problem with feds is i'm so new to the sport its had for me to know whats best for me and what feds are in the south, tho i admitt i would travel for bigger meets.. i travel alot anyways for fun so i would for big meets

i will say i wish i would have been part of a fed for this meet.. most feds the state record for raw lifting in florida is only around 420lb

To be honest I'm not sure.. In 1997 I trainied with a strength coach for football and at age 15 and weight 178 (give or take) I could squat 425lbs.. Pretty much ever since then I have done only leg press, leg ex, leg curls, and calf work, and lungs for 50yards from time to time... When I do leg press I use anywhere from 750lb to 950lb depending on the type of leg press machine they all seem to have a different way of hittin u..So I have strong legs, but unsure about a max for squat.

Deadlift I have no clue I just started adding it to my work out in march.

I want to try next june to do a full meet for the law enforcement games here in florida, I plan on that being my first full big 3 lifting meet.. Until then I want to join a good fed and compete at some bigger events that will push my limits with bench

Nice man! Based on what you said above I'd bet you have a decent squat also.
