    405 Bench Help

    Ok fellas...here is the deal...i just made a $1000 bet to get 405 on Monday. I have come real real short of 405 a few weeks ago. (got 315 for 8 right before)...and came real shy. I did get sick and stop lifting for 2 weeks. I need some good advice as to what I can do between now and Monday and how I should work up to 405 to get me that extra push...anything I can take, eat, or do between now and then to get that push would be huge for me...

    what did you lift last and when, how close have you come to 405 and when was that?

    do you use anything for bencing at the moment? shirt, wrist straps, belt, etc?

    All i can say is forget gear there is nothing that will help you in the space of a few days...

    Here is what you need d;
    go get some slings for your arms (bench slings), they will add a bit, you cant use them in comps but this aint a comp is it (use a sweat shirt to cover the sleeves so it don't raise any eyebrows) also use wrist straps. If you can get hold of it get some resin, looks like saw dust, its way better than chalk if not you have to go with the chalk.

    If you want a boost get some Ammonia caps, they will be better for you than any steroid out there, you cant get the advantage from juice now its too late, (no good giving he horse oats the day he is going plou***ng).

    If you dont use these and your gap in max bench is greater than 10lbs i say you have no chance, if you have been using all these and your gap is still more than 10lbs you have no chance, if you bench RAW then yeah id say with them you should piss it.

    oh yeah forgot to add what the warm up should be like...
    you say you got 315 for 8, ok titdy so do the warm up in stages,

    you came in shy of 405 because of you being tired... aim to get a plate up every 2 sets and drop the reps down

    Warm up of 2 sets on one plate (60kg) for 12 reps.

    Stick another plate on (100kg) do a further 2 sets of 8 reps

    3 plates (140kg) of 4 reps for 1 set.

    3.25 plates (150kg) for 2-3 reps for 1 set.

    3.5 (160kg) plates for 2-3 reps...

    add 5kg (165kg)

    3.75 (170kg) for one then...

    add 5kg

    (175kg) for one

    then finally 4 plates (180kg) for one.

    rest for up to 3 miutes between sets, dont go too fast. Make sure all you do is lower the weight to your chest and press up.. make your spotters take the weight out of the rack and hand it to you, same on putting it back, you hold it they take it off you. dont have any of this assist bollox.

    Its a big lift and not to be laughed at... let me know how you get on... good luck!

    not cocky brotha...just strong you have to understand that i was JUST missing 405 after doing 315 for 8...this time i did the bar for 15, 135 for 8, 225 for 5, and then 315 for 1. 405 went flying up. i never went for a max lift just for the sake of goign for a max lift...i felt i could make it if i prepared properly, and it all worked out well
