So I just got an MRI and diagnosed with small left disc protrusions at L4-L5 and L5-S1 without significant neural foraminal or canal narrowing. I have been powerlifting for the past few years and training in BJJ as well. Anyone have any good advice based on personal experience as to what I should stay away from in the gym with this type of injury? I refuse to quit training altogether and I would rather not go with the cortizone shot for a temporary fix. Currently I have decreased the weight on all my lifts and have been doing the stretches that the doctors recommended everyday, taken over a month off the BJJ training, but as everyone knows, time equals money with this shit.
