    Deadlifting and my lower back

I was going to attempt a new max today on the deadlift, and i know i would of got it as well. However after warming up and going through the motions my lower back felt real stiff, and i was feeling a dull pain. So after doing a single at 405 and feeling extremely weak pulling it up, i became really depressed lol. Stripped the plates, decided not to deadlift and went to do some bent over rows with 225. Again the weight felt real light but i was experiencing the same lower back stiffness and pain. I felt completely defeated!! I suppose it could just be one of those days..
    Rest and come back strong?

Can't go wrong with rest, that's for sure. But are you doing some active stretching before you lift. I've noticed that when I get extreme low back tightness, its because I've haven't adequately stretched my hamstrings. Hamstring tightness and lack of flexibility could lead to not only low back stiffness but low back injuries as well.

You shouldn't do more than one maximal effort squat/deadlift workout a week.

LOL...yeah I think your attitude towards a program like that might be slightly different were it not for the tren.

Surprising enough, i did the whole introductory, base and switching microcycle without being on gear. I only just started on my intense microcycle.

This is going to be fun, .

I'm pretty sure that cycle was designed with steroid users in mind, since gear is legal in Russia.

Well i squatted the other day... Warmed up, did my sets.. All was well.. My back felt fine... However on and off [2 days after] I am getting a dull pain-- seems like the left side of my lower back, also that sometimes i can feel shooting down through my left leg as well.. Its not an intense pain but its there.. Comes and goes

"Abandon hope all ye' who enter here." The inscription on the gates of hell in Dante's Inferno could be applied to the four- week base cycle without a shade of exaggeration.

^^ on Smolov's squat program [LOL]

Could it be the pain from lifting the weights? Strains?

Have you tried a belt? I would only wear one if i had a back injury. It could be worth a shot.

Haha, yeh got to love the smolov squat program. .

Nope no orals at all... I don't use a belt... Perhaps I should give it a try?? Not a fan my self haha.. Should be deadlifting tomorrow.. Lower back is feeling better.

You know i wish it was just pain from the weight/strain but i really don't think it is.. I have a feeling its a herniated disk or something along those lines.. Just got to deal with it

I understand the lack of wearing a belt, it always feels uncomfortable and restrictive to me. I know I get sciatic nerve problems every few weeks because I'm a restless sleeper with a less than optimal mattress, and things get a bit tweaked. It definitely doesn't sound like muscle pain.

    Hope your feeling better!
