    Then I reduce them and correct defaults with Paint Shop Pro...

    Thanks ....but you do not need to scan the pics with this high resolution(10200*14040 = 52 Mb files),i think that (800*640) would be enough...no need for reducing.....thanks any way..(you have very good scaner unlike mine)

    The resolution ensues from the chosen DPI (1200 is enough for me)...
