Yeah it was a little while back involving both of his legs. He tore one entire Quad and really messed up the ligaments in the other leg.
Here are the Details: http://www.jpfux.com/
Peace ,

Definately the fear of many. To be squating 675 lbs and have your knees give out. I worry about it with just 8 plates.

I thought this at the time, WTF we're his spotters doing and WTF didn't he have the safety rails in place? With that kind of weight you never know what's gonna happen.

The really weird thing is now when I read any mags, all I see is guys spotting pinless, some not even doing it in a rack.
It's like if a friend dies in a car crash, but everyone keeps driving without a seat belt.

LOL hell yeah, got to be careful, I can't even trust myself after I dropped a 45LB plate on my foot, and I never seem to add up or read very well, last night I refered to my squatting weight thinking I couldn't have lifted this last week, so I racked the bar anyway cos the book never lies, I finished the set and realised my mistake, luckily I was feeling strong LOL.

Looks like he took ass to the grass squats a little too seriously.

now that's what I call a Full Range of Motion!
Maybe Fux thought that he was doing a 675lbs sissy-squat?Last edited by retired; 01-24-2003 at 10:20 PM.

Man nothing better than laughing at a serious injury like this.
It's not as if he didn't put up the safety rails and hid it from everyone. Someone should have said "Hey, put up the rails, we don't want you to get hurt."

It should go without saying that making light of the accident is only "funny" because everyone who trains on the edge knows that the same thing can happen to them. I sometimes have nightmares before leg day of the leg press sled crushing my legs to a pulp. Nobody said that this was an easy sport...
I'm glad that he has recovered and I hope that he can regain his previous form.

I don't like to rely on spotters, so I make sure to use the safety pins in the squat rack. I also do a lot of upper-body work in the power rack, so that I don't get pinned under the bar when pressing.
I'm not a fan of forced reps, so this system works quite well for me.
