it is a true, sunless tan. you can tan without the sun or tanning beds.... hold on...lemme get what i wrote on a different forum
================================================== ======
The product was initially produced to protect the skin from damage from the sunlight's harmful UV rays. The darker the skin the less likely your skin will be damaged by UV rays....so they developed a drug that will stimulate the skin natural protectant, Melonin, without having to expose it to harmful rays. Melonin is what causes your skin to darken (tan) and absorbes the UV rays of the sun (and tanning beds)
Would you like to have dark skin?
or, dark skin with a possibility of developng skin cancer?

and it's not that expensive compared to some things you need to take for months to acually start seeing results.

I have been using it for the past two months and it works great, I really like the idea of my skin being protected from the harmful effects of the sun, ie. skin cancer.....then there's the obvious, people telling me how great I look and ask if I have been tanning. Great stuff!!!!

They recommend sorta a taper.
.5mg for the first 2 days then 1mg/day after that...depending on your body weight also. for someone who weighs in the 170 - 200lb range, 1mg/day should be enough.
1 - 10mg vial will last you 9 days.....not enough for good results. I didn't start seeing results until after I had done 10mg...but then again, I haven't hit a tan bed either which will speed the process up.
I have a skin type III, almost a IV, so I tan easily. I plan on getting in the tan bed and do a couple 5 - 8 minute sessions and should get extremely dark. I've done 15mg without a tan bed and am already quite a few shades darker.

oops, math is off, you are right...11 days your first 10mg vial will last you.
Melanotan II is like viagra for me and most other people. Like I said earlier, it was developed in the early 90's to try to find a "cure" ,or at least make it harder to get, for skin cancer but they also found one of it's side effects as it being easier for an erection to occur.....does this not sound familiar to Viagra??? LOL Viagra was supposed to be a medication for cardiac patients but found this strange side-effect in it also and they scrapped the idea for it being a cardio med and Phizer made billions on it as an ED med.
John88, once reconstituted with water you can inject it with a 29g slin needle if you wanted. Just the same as HCG and HGH it completely dissolves and will not clog a small needle. I do Sub-Q injections around the belly ED. It doesn't need to be IM.

You don't have to....but it helps to get a few minutes of exposure to speed things up. I haven't been in a bed or definitely been in the sun (being that's it cold as shit up here) and i'm already darker.

none, it affects melanin production in the skin cells....or here's a more indepth description..It's a good read
"Both drugs were developed at the University of Arizona. Researchers there knew that one of the best defenses against skin cancer was a natural tan which has been slowly developed over weeks. They hypothesized that an effective way to reduce skin cancer rates in people would be to induce the body's natural tanning system to produce a protective tan prior to UV exposure. They knew the body's naturally occurring hormone alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone (α-MSH) caused melanogenesis, a process by which the skin's tanning cells (melanocytes) produce the skin's tanning pigment (melanin). With that knowledge they tested to see if administering this hormone to the body directly could be an effective method to cause sunless tanning. What they found was that while it appeared to work, natural alpha-MSH had too short a half life in the body to be practical as a therapeutic drug. So they decided to find a more potent and stable alternative, one that would be more practical.
After synthesizing and screening hundreds of molecules, the researchers headed by Dr. Victor Hruby, found a peptide that after trials and testing seemed to not only be safe but also approximately 1,000 times more potent than natural α-MSH. [1] They dubbed this new peptide Melanotan. Since their discovery, numerous studies dating back to the mid-1980s have shown no obvious toxic effects of Melanotan[citation needed]. Because skin cancer (melanoma) today is a major health concern, Melanotan is expected to be used as a drug to combat it. Melanotan will do this[citation needed] by stimulating the body's natural tanning mechanism to create a tan without first needing exposure to harmful levels of UV radiation [2]. This in turn will reduce the potential for skin damage that can eventually lead to skin cancer."
