    weighing meat

just curious to see if you guys weigh your portions before or after cooking because obviously after cooking the meat only weighs about half as much. I usually weigh my meat before cooking but I started weighing chicken after cooking recently when I started shredding my chicken in bulk amounts cause there is no way to tell how much you have unless measured or cooked separately and eight pounds of chicken turned into to only five servings (I eat 1lb for a serving).

Weighing meat raw and thawed is the normal method.
1 pound of chicken is a really large serving... That's like 100g of preotein. I'd break that much into at least two meals.

I eat 1lb of meat for every meal besides breakfast which is eggs and my pwo shake. Its the only way I can get enough calories without going over 100g of carbs per meal. I figured weighing it raw was the norm since that is what ive always done prior to my shredded chicken exp which i almost puked cause it would have been almost two lbs raw. I will pry just weigh my final product of meat and divide that into how many meals I planned for.

On a good day 6 whole meals ed and 1 high cal shake. on a bad day 5 whole meals and 2 high cal shakes. just depends on work and how busy I get.
That was before my hernia about two months ago. I lost alot of weight so I dont need as many cals right now.

1lb of meat usualy=100g, u mean to say your eating over 600g of protien a day???

    What are your stats?

    age
    weight
    height
    bf
    training history
    cycle history

    what's your tdce???

if you dont know how to get that
    Men: BMR = 66 + ( 6.23 x weight in pounds ) + ( 12.7 x height in inches ) - ( 6.8 x age in year )

once you have that number, you can multiply it by an activity number to figure out your daily caloric expenditure, be honest here as this is the very cornerstone of your diet, if you are between two of the below activity levels then just multiply by a number in between them

To determine your total daily calorie needs, multiply your BMR by the appropriate activity factor, as follows:

If you are sedentary (little or no exercise) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.2
    If you are lightly active (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.375
    If you are moderatetely active (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.55
    If you are very active (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days a week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.725
If you are extra active (very hard exercise/sports & physical job or 2x training) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.9

then... u mind posting up a detailed diet with macros??

while your at it,how about a pic???

600 is just unhealthy, even for most body builders

I usually weigh it cooked. The nutritional label on the meat will list the caloric content for raw food. Cooked will yield less

why do my numbers not make sense. Most of the competitors that I know that way between 225-280 eat up to 8000 cals ed. a national competitor I know said he got up to 12000 cals ed once but he could only keep up for a wk. Most of my larger buddies say I dont eat enough and I should be eating at least 6000 cals ed. and most of those guys are national competitors and some that aren't are definately big enough to be so they know their shit. I eat as much as I possibly can. when first breaking the 5000 mark I puked after meals all the time but after a couple wks I got used to it and I couldn't be happier it helped my gains tremendously.

    That's preposterous.

And how does everyone seem to have a friend that's a national competitor? I always wondered that.

when I was at 4800 cals ed and trying to break 5k one of the vets on here told me it would be the best thing I could do and I would be very happy with the results and I have. my buds told me the same and thats when I was just over 200lb. If you guys think 5000 cals is too much than I think you are not eating enough. and I know more than a few people who have competed nationally. one of them still does. they may not be my best friends but I talk to them enough to get tips.

your tdce is at least 1800-2000kcal below 5000kcal... numbers dont make sense, you'd be soo freakin fat from that stuff.. over eating by 2000k a day, you be pulling on a 1lb of fat a day...

try to remember, alotta what you eat past your tdce turns into fat...

that's why when you bulk, you only go 400kcal over your tdce...

I call BS. Unless you have superhuman genetics and run a few grams worth of gear each week. I calculated your BMR.... 2100... even if you're extremely active and multiply your BMR by 1.9 thats still roughly 4000 calories. 5400 calories ed is 1400 calories EXCESS, there is 3000 calories in a lb of fat, at that rate you'd be putting on over 3lbs of fat per week. Theres NO WAY you can maintain 11% bodyfat at that rate. The math doesn't add up. What body fat % did you start at before you started eating this way BTW?

i counted closer to 6000... with your stats, you'd only be adding alotta fat (and putting your kidneys through hell processing that much protien)

im not saying there arn't guys out there who can't keep a decent bf with this diet, im saying your stats dont match the numbers.. you'd have to be a 6'4 280lb guy with under 10% bf for this diet to work for you

the most I have ever been is 14%bf. my work and metabolism obviously play a role in that but I know guys who eat this much that work retail and have a descent bf%. I can't remember the macros for everything but I know that I wasn't going over 5400 ed.
