    Arrow Ideas for Shoulders

So I have been doing the same shoulder lifts for awhile now and been getting good gains. Size and strength both went up. However, recently I've noticed that the gains are kinda tampering off. As if i'm getting close to plateauing. I just wanted to ask what other excercises can you do for shoulders? Specificly the side of your shoulder. Right now i do something like this:

    Lateral raises: 3 or 4x10
    Frontal raises: 3 or 4x10
    Reverse butterfly: 3 or 4x10
*Behind the neck military BB press: 95x10, 105x10, 115x10, 125xfailure
This excercise changes all the time but this is what i did last time.

Basically i'm trying to find some different excercises for the side of my shoulder and front. Any input will be appreciated.

I already do the behind the neck shoulder press. Haven't tried the arnold tho. I hear that mainly works the front of the shoulder? What kind of results have you experienced doing the arnold press?

My delts blew up ever since I started doing the arnold. I always get compliments from people at the gym who are 3 times the size of me lol. I dont know if everyone gets the same results but I did for sure. I do 3 sets of 8 with 65 DB's.

Where you notice the gains at? Front, side, rear of the shoulder or the whole damn thing.

Try seated cables. You can angle your attack several different ways depending on the height of the cable and the height of the seat. I had great success a few years back after switching from a routine very similar to yours.

What muscle do you feel you are working pressing behind the neck?

Do you start (down position) with your palms facing out or in. I've seen videos for both, wondering what worked for you.

I start with my palms out just as I am doing a normal shoulder press

I already read that post. I wonder why i feel it on my rear shoulders then. I'm researching some other lifts for shoulders now. Does anybody else have some input for shoulders? I appreciate it so far. I'm really thinking of trying that arnold press. Thanks again guys.

so would pull downs behind the head be working the (lats) back and not the shoulders? Just wanting to clear it up. I assumeing since its very similar to the press.

Start power cleaning if you're not. It's not a great mass builder for shoulders (for traps it is!) But if you think you're gonna be plateauing soon, this could help prevent that.

Pull downs behind the neck will work the rear delts to some extent as well as the lats. Grip width and the angle at which you pull down to will shift emphasis a bit. As far as it being similiar to the press, that would be wrong. It's the exact opposite as it's a pulling movement as opposed to a pressing movement even though the plane of motion is very similiar.

Remember your anterior delts and posterior delts are antagonistic muscles. Meaning they operate against each other much like biceps and triceps. You cant work them both with the same exercise.

Just watched it on youtube and that arnold press looks pretty sick.

How much do you weight to be throwing up 65 lbers??

Yes, that boy is way off base.

Take a light Db in one hand, take the other hand and grasp the delts of the arm you are pressing with, you will feel which muscles are working during the press.

    Capish?

try doing the raises with a parallel grip. seated front raises are great with a parallel grip.

I believe Larry Scott was the first guy to come up with this idea. Back in the day he had some awesome delts..and arms.
