    Chains vs. Bands

So I have been working pretty hard on my big three and want to switch it up a bit just for some variation. I have seen many people use chains and bands but I was wondering if there was a clear winner in terms of:

    Increasing tension through lift
    Strength building qualities
    Helping get through plateaus
If one is clearly better then the other

Also this is from the floor. Not bands from the ceiling for assisted lifts.

Your right, but that's they're advantage, they force you to stabilize during the movement which ignites you CNS system which in the long run will make you much stronger and less prone to injury. Both are great for the purpose you are looking for.

My bench is like your dead and squat. Can't do it right now.

As for bands I put each loop around the bar and then stood on the band and went as explosive as I could!

    Did 135x10 225x10 275x10 325x5

I could of gotten 4-5 more at 275 but 325 was near failure

You put a board or book on your chest. This is so the bar stops higher up.Helps you thru the stiking points. You can add or subtract books.

I've got a full set of bands and love them....

The peak contraction on chest movements in amazing (incline hammer press especially)...

I really like them.... Buy yourself a light set and get wrapping them on machines or bars.... Just play about and find out what you like...

I agree, love using bands. I think my fav exercise using bands is close grip flat bench press...the bands add the highest amount of resistance at the very top of the movement which is where your tri's are working the most.

The ones I use the most are 41" mini bands (10-50 lbs)

I get them from wolverson fitness in the UK so if ur in the states just look around online.... Maybe try rogue fitness
