I don't know of any (empirical) studies on it, but there's plenty of sociologists, philosophers and cultural anthropologists who have written largely on the subject. I'll dig up some stuff on it later.
I see it too, Its societies turn against all things male. The traits that made a strong confident male in society are not longer desired. It has nothing to do with any Gay Agenda or some silly blame game like that. It has to do with America feeling guilty for its success. If you look at popular media from the 20's,30's ect. A man was to be tough and rugged and show now emotion. Show temperament when needed, or smack someone around when they had to. Its basically trying to de-alpha the Alphas in our society. Which is a male dominated society. Everyone wants life to be fair in America. No one wants to compete and the strong are demonized for being strong. Might is right and always has been in human society. We try to equal out the Might by bringing the mighty to the average persons level so that no one feels inferior to any one else.
