    It really exerts little effects in the way of NO. Thats hype used by supp companies.
    The direct benfit of BA is that it increases carnosine levels.
    Carnosine is definately a powewrful anti oxidant and is concentrated in skelatal muscle so it prevents oxidative damage in muscle. It also does this in the nervous system as well.
    The next benfit of carnosine and the one that supp companies hang their hat on most (NO being the second) is that it was shown in one study on rats that increased carnosine resulted in increased contractile force in muscle and decreased fatigue.
    The tingling is known as parathesia and must be from BA exerting some effects on nerves. Usually after a couple weeks of use the tingling stops.

    AAKG is whats used as an NO precursor.
