This is BS too. The magical 'anabolic window', closes after exactly 60 mins!?!? Read my Cutting 101 sticky for more info. Needless to say this 'mantra' was drummed up by supplement companies looking to sell their fast acting protein powders, knowing that eating real food would be too difficult and expensive for people. There is some truth in that your muscles ARE more receptive to nutrient uptake in the PWO state, however recent studies show protein synthesis actually increasing several hours PWO, not closing after 1 hour. Kinda sucks for the supp. companies, huh? When I ran an IF diet, I worked out fasted (BCAA's only) and still delayed my PWO meal for several hours... and saw strength gains in nearly every lift weekly.

Why is this all we hear coming up in thru the years in the gym and from other lifters around gyms? Not closed after an hour, but ideally within an hour after training?

Complex carbs will do the same thing without the insulin spike. Why would we want to spike insulin? Why have unstable levels which is potentially dangerous? I'd rather have fairly stable blood glucose levels all throughout the day... and still yield the same results as those guys drinking whey and dextrose/malto PWO (Yuck... eating pure sugar on purpose... brilliant idea)

Understand that we don't want spikes throughout the day, but not even when muscle fibers are more receptive toward the nutrients? After training?

    PWND!!!

Forgive me plz. What is PWND, can't wait to read it. Lol

I thought it was one hour!?!?!

It is, but then it's 40 mins to an hour...ROFLMAO

Oh man, I am beginning to hate this now. I'm Sooo confused. Hahaha.
