i just changed from IF protocol to 8 meals a day and i forget to eat most of them, and end up eating them all together in 2-3 meals anyways. Im pro IF protocol. But IF protocol isnt needed for regular diet needs you can diet down easily to 10% with a regular diet plan.

Agreed. As always, it boils down to what works best for an individual. If IF helps you stick to a diet, go for it. I'm the perfect example. I've dieted down to aobut 9% using a standard bodybuilder diet. I actually have better results than with IF - however from a lifestyle standpoint I like IF better... and am still a big advocate. I probably could have tweaked IF to work as well for me as a standard diet, i'm just lazy lol.

    the original question...
"Fasting or 6 Meals to cut"

you spelled out the pros and cons for each, but never gave an opinion as to which you think is the better approach, everything else being equal?

I'm of the mind that 6 meals is better,

my son is currently running the IF and singing it's praises.....

Such as the case with just about everything else in this lifestyle, it comes down to the individual. Some respond extremely well to IF, some don't, and some don't respond at all. I personally seem to respond better to more frequent smaller meals, but I like the IF approach better for other reasons (satiety, sanity, and quality of life to name a few). I think it's relevant to point out that I have spent years tweaking 'traditional' dieting, and only a few months here and there playing with IF... so I can't really say everything else is equal. i.e. this could easily be why I seem to respond better to the former - more time refining = dialed in.

As I thought. What my son is doing, his body is responding to, but grudgingly. He gains easy, and I cut easy. But I've got years and years of experience making the barbells go up and down, where as he has been doing this seriously maybe 18 months. For me, after you've been doing thiis along time, when you snap them reins, the ponies DO bolt (although at my age, it takes longer)

You, my friend, are a pup. I'm looking at 51 in a few months......

BUT, it's not about how many candles you've managed to collect on the birthday cake, is it?
