The guy's training for MMA, I don't think he's to concerned if there's a little extra pressure on his knees and back. As far as sticking with it, nothing is impossible, and this is certainly not unrealistic. Tons of people stick to p90x, and many others use it as their stepping stone into a bigger world of health and fitness. In this regard I think the benefits far outweigh the stress on the knees and lower back.

I would think if he is training mma it would be super important to not have pain in his knees or back. Anyhow

its notoriously unrealistic and yes temporary features def out weigh knee and back pain

Insanity is great! When i first used it i was 230 lbs, and that wasnt muscle. It is insanely hard, i couldnt even finish the warmup. But i saw results within a week. I got to where i could finish the videos at the end of the month, albeit with more breaks. Keep in mind i was extremely out of shape, got winded walking a flight of stairs. I only did the first month. As for sticking with it, it wasnt that hard. I had a terrible diet, changed it to their reccomended one and barely cheated, and was extremely out of shape but stuck with it for a month, also worked nights and didnt get a lot of sleep during the day. Following their diet i lost 20 lbs in the first month, and gained a little muscle, and the 2nd month is even more intense. It is heavy cardio, there are small amounts of push ups and such. Most of it involves the likes of jogging, high knees, butt kicks, log jumps, modified jumping jacks etc etc.

I dont know about being rough on knees and back but if he is in mma i most def would not advise only doing insanity. Yea maybe if u r trying to cut some weight and drop a weight class but there is only body resistant workouts which i think is good but that isnt gonna give u that much of a strength boost i would advise doing both body resistant workouts and free weight training. The true great fighters r the ones that weight 185 but have the strength and punch of a 205 fighter.
