We had a very heated debate in the News forum, it was between myself, Blome, Inherit, vs. several bleeding heart Liberal Socialists... They point to how great and successful Englands gun control is, and how outlawing guns and enforcing the prohibition greatly works. Citing that America's gun control is half assed and THATS why it doesnt work. When anyone with a brain who can look at statistics will tell you that gun control NEVER works, no matter how hard its enforced. Well this video shows very interesting statistics about what happened after England banned handguns&other firearms.

Everyone PLEASE PLEASE watch this video. It shows a story of TONY MARTIN who shot two intruders breaking into his home, he defended himself with his shotgun, killed one intruder and injured the other. The one intruder who lived got 3 years in prison. Tony Martin, recieved a life sentence, later reduced to manslaughter charges. The court asserted that Tony Martin should have yelled for help instead of shooting the intruders.

I knew someone would bring this up. That is ONE case, one particularly extraordinary case. If you can find many more like this, that has happened in England, Godfather, please be free to share even more videos with us. As it stood I agreed that man got a way OTT sentence, and as it stood it got recinded down from life to a man slaughter charge. This happened about 5 years ago and I think he's out now.

His sentence reflected the stupid political correct system that exists in our country now. Nothing to do with "punishing a gun toting hero".

DSM, I am in Philly EVERY SINGLE DAY! I cannot believe that you are against citizens arming themselves? The 1-2 killings a day are committed by CRIMINALS! None of the guns they are using are registered legal firearms posessed by law abiding upstanding citizens. They are perpetrated by criminals who break the law regularly and live a life of crime. I think you should ENCOURAGE citizens in Philadelphia to exercise their god given RIGHT to coneal&carry a firearm to defend themselves against these criminals in our city. Why do you want to enable the criminals and make their lives easier by making all of us citizens easy prey? I was more interested in the fact that violent crime rose 40% after the ban was instituted.

It's amazing what you can learn in two days, after debating the issue with a coupla friends.

I don't think it's guns persay I have a problem with, it's lawlessness. Lawlessness is running rampant in the UK, with feral teenage youths attacking people and in a lot of cases now, killing them. What im interested in, is if you took away peoples rights to bare arms in America, would there still be lawlessness? Would people still kill each other with other means? It seems a shame when the last line of defence for the common man is himself when it's supposed to be the military and the policeforce.

Someone asked me on here, would I take a bat to a gunfight. Well I wouldn't go to a gunfight in the first place. I do think though, if you're being held up at gunpoint for your wallet, you have a far greater chance of living then if you suddenly pull a gun on him. In that sceanrio, you either shoot him, or he shoots you. 50/50.

In the UK, i put lawlessness down to the ridiculous politically correct system in this country now. We can't discipline anyone now. We have more surveilance cameras in London than anywhere else in the world, and still crime is occuring.
