I take a wee off when i feel my body needs it. I never go on exact time cycles, i just know when i need a break and find it to be beneficial
every 3 to 4 months u should take a week off. i dont tho
i prefer a 1 week deload once a month

I've been working out religiously since 1988, took two 1 week breaks over those 24 years (both after surgeries). Not saying that's right or wrong but I love training too much to take break.
