The deadlift should be performed the same way that one performs the squat.

Looks good to me...I like how slow you return the weight to the ground on the negative.

That's not correct at all! the squat and dead are 2 totally different movements. Your form looks allright, but it could use some tweaking. I think you're going to low turning the movement into a quad dominant exercise. bring your butt up a little bit, and you'll be able to use more power in your glutes, back, and hips.

Form looks good to me. Just make sure you wear a weight lifters belt. When i deadlift i usually have my feet about shoulder width apart with the bar right against my ankles. I'm with fbomb in saying that you don't want to go to low with your butt otherwise it will feel more like a squat movement. Overall though I'd say your deadlift looks pretty good, just make sure to get a weight lifters belt so you don't hurt your back.

Really? If i went any lower then what he did then i would feel it alot in my quads. Maybe it's just me though, everybodys different. I pretty much just say whatever feels most comfortable.

personal prefence, either way your not far off.. if you dont have any pain stick with it. i drop a hair more to keep the back from hunching,

Either way you go youll have guys say , too much this way its a "good morning" or a sqaut. I lean to the squat side and yes i feel it well in my quads...

like i said your prolly good bro, not going to hurt anything that way.

Why? There's no need to wear one with the weights being used. With a strong core you can develop internal pressure great enough to support your back.

I agree. Unless you're going for a 1RM attempt or pushing serious poundage, let your core work isometrically and do its job instead of relying on a piece of equipment. Valsalva maneuver helps greatly with this.

agreed on the belt, no need if you start with low weight and work your way up slowly.

The only thing I noticed is that on the 1st video, you didn't always have your chest up as much as perfectly possible but it was pretty good for the most part.

What I learned from Mark Bell on his youtube videos is keeping your shoulders behind the bar when doing a close stance. Keep them in front of the bar when doing sumo.
And the only time I use a belt is anytime I am 85% of my 1RM.
