You guys bumped a thread that was asked when the 2008 playoffs were underway. A little late I think.

Lakers by a landslide. Tracy McGrady will never win a big game.

[QUOTE=Brown Ninja;4242186]Lakers by a landslide. Tracy McGrady will never win a big game.[/Q
Never win a big game has been said about a lot of people...until they win the big game. I'll take Houstons entire team and not worry about your thoughts on McGrady. He is older and seems to be a different player as shown by last year. He led them when YAO went down and looked great doing it. They shouldn't have gone far in last years playoffs and they didn't. Love the D in Houston this year. Plenty of scoring help if McGrady is not hot...although McGrady was hot most of the year last year...especially during the 22 game win streak and half done without their other superstar YAO. Injurys are the key to the NBA season. And as far as the LAKERS by a landslide...did you say that last year? I am assuming you are counting on AB playing the entire year? Lakers are a top contender but its a long season. Ask Kobe how Shaqs ass tastes.Last edited by testigator; 10-13-2008 at 08:30 AM.

Wow that's a lot of hate for the Lakers and Kobe in general. Did they do something to you? Houston? No way. T-Mac cannot and will not win any game of consequence. Count on that. McGrady is Vince Carter with worse dunks and a better jump shot. The Rockets are solid no doubt but they will not compete with the class of the West. They will make the playoffs and lose in 4 in the first round. Ask T-Mac how Kobe's dick tastes

Can you give me the rest of your sports picks so I can go get rich betting. You are so sure about the title going to LA? Who did you pick last year? Where is the "wow, thats a lot of hate for the Lakers?" No hate. T-Mac will never win the big game...he did plenty last year. The team isn't T-Macs team. He isn't the leader and he won't be asked to lead. The Rockets were the 4 seed last year with half the team so why won't they be better this year? Answer...they will. You KNOW how many games they will win in the playoffs already? After a week of basketball? Awesome, can you give me the rest of the winners this year please? Come on. The Lakers should be the favorite and I didn't say they weren't good...its easy to pick the Lakers. You are really climbing out on a limb picking the Lakers. I said the Kobe thing as a joke as Shaq did last year. No hate for Kobe or the Lakers. I just don't see how you are calling the Lakers Champs without having done it with this team. No logical reason to give Kobe a title without Shaq yet. Maybe Ab will be the answer...maybe not. No logical reason the think the Rockets can't win it this year.
Starting 5. 3 all star types players and Scola (the hard working down and dirty player needed to win a title)Along with a deep threat and star Alston. Experience off the bench. I like the Rockets chances.
McGrady
Artest
Yao
Alston
ScolaLast edited by testigator; 10-13-2008 at 11:22 AM. Reason: added starting line up

Detroit is old and weary. I think that window has closed bro. The Celts should be super tough again and Lebron is something special but the Magic could definately be the up and comers out of the East. I also hate to say it but the Wizards, if they ever stay healthy, and that's a big if could be a force.
If you really bet you house on the Rockets, I hope its not a nice one or you have some buddies that will let you crash on the couch because that ain't happening. I think it comes down the Lakers and the Jazz. Kobe for MVP

LMFAO!!! Perversion. Well put. Anyone remember the good old days of NBA on NBC when a Sunday afternoon game in the middle of December was incredibly watchable for some reason. Hmmmm, maybe it was the defense or I guess it could have been the nut huggers, or it could have just been Kurt Rambis. Whatever the reason, the NBA just aint what it use to be.

Unfortunately our boy Bynum is now hurt. I think it has to be Celts or Lakers. Cavs and magic lack the toughness in my eyes

The Spurs are always dangerous but just a little to old at this point. The West sure has fallen off this year

Lakers > Celtics, and that's all that matters.
-
If Bynum can get back, Lakers no doubt.
My Rockets are just choke city
I like the Cavs, but I just don't see them beating Celtics or Magic in a series of games (playoffs)
Looks like it will play out like last year. Hopefully Lakers take it this time.

I think you are referring to the Lakers as "Magic" because magic johnson used to play there. Right? I have a hard time seeing Jameer Nelson shut down Kobe in game 7

At least he has an excuse. Howard is amazing but I am not sold on Lewis being great everynight. He reminds me a lot of Lamar Odom.....with a better shot of course
-

I think Lewis is a good fit. The Magic have a simple game plan surround Howard with 3 point shooters to spread the floor. When Dwight is doubled or tripled someone is open for a three. It's worked well so far, and Lewis leads the league in made 3's. Losing Jameer is going to be tough to get around... he's been playing really well. We just signed Tyron Lue (sp?) to help at the point guard position... I just don't see him playing up to the level Jameer was at. Jameer out for the season is huge!

jAMEER IS LIGHT YEARS AHEAD OF LUE BUT LUE IS SOLID TO COVER IF HE DOESN;T HAVE TO PLAY TO MANY MINUTES. THE MAGIC ARE A FUN TEAM TO WATCH

I think I have to say the Cavs are my favorite to win it right now. They will have a tough time with the Celts but with Ilgauskus back(if he stays healthy) and with Mo Williams playing really well I think they have the pieces around Lebron to get to the next level. Real good supporting cast and King James is just a beast.

The Cavs are an after thought. Lakers are a heavy favorite in my eyes with Celtics then Magic and then Cavs.
