Adrian Peterson
Anyone seen him on the cover of Muscle & Fitness. Unreal. Dude looks like he could get on stage (and win) in a month if he wanted to. Very impressive.

I saw him, it was impressive but I always wonder how much those pictures are "touched up". I currently have the over/under at 4 as to how many games he misses due to injury this year.

i actually did see the cover last night as i was at the book store. he does looked jacked as shit. his shoulders look like bowling balls and his arms were thick as hell. his torso wasnt anything impressive in my eyes though.

that's one of the reasons he is a franchise player, he is very heavily merchandised and active in the community.
but in the end, he seems to be a nice guy on top of it all..
more proof that GH works wonders..The answer to your every question

i've been following a.d. since his seinor year of high school when he was the #1 player in the country and considering going to oklahoma. i've read everything about the kid i could get my hands on and every coach and teammate he's ever had all say he is nothing but a class act and practices and trains like no one they have ever seen. he's been the best player on any team he's been on but he works like he's in jeopordy of getting cut and i admire that. he's been "injury prone" since he's gotten out of high school and some of that is because of how hard he plays and some because of just bad luck. i hope he has a long nfl career because he is indeed a rare talent and a great person and has been very fun to watch.

Jones-Drew better than Adrian Peterson? I see that you are from California but good god. How? Why? I don't think anyone that knows anything about football on this planet would agree with you. Go UCLA

As far as a pure running back, Peterson is one of the best in the game. Drew is more versatile than Peterson though. Drew is second on his team in rushing and receiving, and also returns punts and kicks. Not to say that Peterson couldn't have similar if not more success if the Vikings used in the the same fashion, but Maurice Drew is one of the most complete players around. He still put on the best performance I have ever seen at any level of football. As a junior, he was a man amongst men facing the most talented high school football team ever.

Agreed. Jones-drew is an animal and a great utility player but not on the level of peterson. And just for the record being 2nd in recieving on the jags does not impress anyone!

LOL! Very true. I dont think we will get to see MJD at his best until Taylor leaves or retires. I love him, Ive had him on my fantasy team 3 years running now.....But I agree that Peterson is the better runner of the two, he just amazes me with how easy he makes it look. I worry about the injuries tho, he is gonna have to change his running style if wants to last, but given the type of competitor he is, I dont see that happening. Seems like he is going to be more of a Jim Brown, Barry Sanders type; dominate for about 7-8 years and then retire.

Hey if we can get 7 to 8 years out of AP then that would make me happy. Does anyone out there feel like Peterson is now better than Tomlinson? Just wondering.

Charger fan here. Love LT and think he-when toe heals-is still the best in the game due to his versatility. But, nobody is "way better" than AD. He is the best pure runner I have seen since Barry. As for MJD...huh? Hes good but not even a super star and Fred Taylor is a much stronger runner.Last edited by testigator; 10-02-2008 at 11:22 AM. Reason: sp

Very tough question there. We will have to wait and see how LT is after toe heals, as was already stated. They are both capable of some pretty amazing things on a football field. As long as AP stays relatively healthy, I would place both of them in my top 10 all-time back (LT is already there).....Hmmm, that inspires me to start a new thread

Both are no doubt amazing but over the past couple of years it feel like LT is more oft injured than ever. Obviously AP is no stranger to the injury bug as well but I think the current gap between them is relatively small.

I think you have to factor in injuries here. And, until AP suffers one, and he will, it's hard to say. For all of this seasoin (so far) and part of last, LT has been injured. Injuries change everything.
Every year, the "next Jordan" comes out of the draft, and it never take very long to see that they're not.

Peterson has been way too inconsistent to even be in the conversation of best ever.

Absolutely. He has an amazing line and should be putting together more solid games than he has been. He has enormous potential though
