    Post physical therapy shake necessary?

This tuesday I am having my pectoral major tendon repaired. For 12 weeks I will be in physical therapy. Eventually the physical therapist will have me do some resistance exercises as my healing progresses.

My question is, usually after one of my real workouts I take a 50 g whey protein/100 g dex PWO shake. Is this necessary for after a physical therapy workout? I was planning on just taking the 50 g whey shake WITHOUT the dextrose. I don't think the workouts will be that intense where I will need the dextrose.

Am I right? What should I do?

Couldn't hurt. I'd definetely drink a shake afterwards.

But do I need the 50 g of whey protein AND the 100 g of dextrose or is the 50 g of whey protein good enough?

id say that when you start pt, i would keep the dex in there for a week or 2...imo, it may help with healing after therapy and surgery...ask your pt...but i would drop the dex after the first week or 2 of pt, and rather include some more complex carbs like oats...good luck brother
