Kidney health fact or fiction?
I have good evidence that milk thistle and lemon juice in water and liver supplements keep your liver heathy and helps detoxify it and makes sure that its working good, but does anyone have evidence about cranberry extract and pure cranberry juice being good for the kidneys?

well cranberry is a anti-oxident, and it has to pass through the kidneys before you pee. so there for it is cleaning the kidneys... pretty simple.
but ill do better and I'll get some sites to back it up

03-16-2007, 05:10 AM #4Studies done by Prof. Allan Rodgers at the University of Cape Town scientifically prove that cranberry juice is an effective cure - not only a tasty folk remedy. The reason? The juice alters three key urinary risk factors: it lowers the concentration of oxalate and phosphate, it increases the citrate concentration and it dilutes the concentration of calcium oxalate in the urine. These results were published in the British Journal of Urology.
Previous studies had shown high concentrations of oxalate and calcium oxalate in the urine to contribute to crystal formation. It was also shown that citrate inhibits the formation of crystals - therefore the higher the citrate concentration in the urine, the better.

He wasnt asking about if you have damaged kidneys if cranberry heals them. i think u need to learn how to comprehend before you start typing responses. he wanted evidence that cranberry will detoxify the kidneys. which it will do.Last edited by K.Biz; 03-16-2007 at 08:16 AM.
