How much does it take and How do you know when you are Hydrated??
I am not sure if this goes here, but anyways...
I was wondering when you know that you are completely Hydrated and how much water does it take to get you Body 100% Rehydrated??? I swear to god that I can go with out drinking something till late in the day... I know... I know... Its not healthy... Anyways, when I was over in Afghanistan and especially in Africa they would I.V. us to make sure we were completely rehydrated, but when it comes to drinking Water, Electrolyte Drinks how much does it take, or is it something that is done over a course of time, in other words, if you are dehydrated, it would take a few day to get rehydrated...
Anyways, I just wanted to know, being that it is F**king hot here in FL...
Off to the Gym...

Mild to moderate dehydration is likely to cause:
* Dry, sticky mouth
* Sleepiness or tiredness
* Thirst
* Decreased urine output
* Few or no tears when crying
* Muscle weakness
* Headache
* Dizziness or lightheadedness
Severe dehydration, a medical emergency, can cause:
* Extreme thirst
* Extreme fussiness irritability and confusion in adults
* Very dry mouth, skin and mucous membranes
* Lack of sweating
* Little or no urination — any urine that is produced will be dark yellow or amber
* Sunken eyes
* Shriveled and dry skin that lacks elasticity and doesn't "bounce back" when pinched into a fold
* In infants, sunken fontanels —
* Low blood pressure
* Rapid heartbeat
* Fever
* In the most serious cases, delirium or unconsciousness
Just watch for any of these symptoms and drink up....

be careful not to consume large amounts of water in a short time. It can cause you to flush electrolytes. People have died from this. If its excessively hot, you should also consume something to help replenish salts and electrolytes. Tang makes a sport supplement drink powder with electrolytes. I use it, its zero calories and tastes pretty good.

Its best to hydate at night. You may have to get up an pee but that ok. It depends on what you are doing during the day. Usually 8oz of water per hour and if extended time and excessive sweeting use an electrolyte drink but use half water. If your body is telling you, you need to drink, you are already starting to dehydrate. I am in the sun 6-8hrs a day in south Louisiana teaching and playing tennis. Trust me, you want to keep up with the fluid intake.

Wei***ng yourself before and after hard exercise, or any exercise in extreme heat can help you gauge how much water you need to replace. Every pound you lost is roughly equal to 16 oz of water lost through sweat.
