Tribulus to keep the light on?
Hi all,
As I understand it, tribulus is not regarded as the kind of supplement that can give AAS like results, in any degree, and just basically does the same thing that HCG does, but is less effective, and cannot put natural testosterone into the supra-physiologic range by any stretch.
Also, as I am aware Tribulus is not effective during PCT, as while it may stimulate some testosterone production by the testes, it is just as suppressive to the HPTA as HCG or AAS is, in that the testosterone it would lead to making still has a suppressive effect on the Hypothalamus.
However, I am falmilar with guys who are either on HRT, long cycles, or cruising for long time periods on low doses of testosterone (150-250 mg EW) using HCG at very small doses, to “keep the lights on”, as in keep the testes producing just a little bit of testosterone, so if they ever do come off the AAS the testes themselves have not lost the ability to make the hormone all together.
So, can tribulus likewise be used while cruising, to “keep the lights on” if its used at say 750mg ED? Would it take more like 1.5 grams, or even MORE?
It seems cheap and easy to obtain, likely in that is cannot give AAS like results, but what for the purpose of just getting the testes to directly make just a little bit, to keep them active while cruising?

I was not expecting to see any gains from it at all.
Were you using it for the same purpose I just suggested above?
Not to make noticable gains in the gym.
What I want to know, specifically is if it could keep the testes responding to LH and FSH by not having them 100% deprived while crusing, so as to make PCT easier since I would be "keeping the horse in the barn, so I don't have to chase it accross 3 counties later on".
HCG can be used for this as well, but it is more expensive than trib, Tribulus which I can get legally, for about enough to last 180 days at 750mg for 15.00 USD.
WHere HCG would cost me about 50.00 for a 45 day supply at 500 iu 2x EW.
Everything I have read about tribulus is that it does not bring levels of healthy male testosterone above the range, and is therefor no good at making gains in the gym. That is not the question.
I believe it has been shown to increase sperm levels, which would in theory mean it may be able to "keep the lights on", while using real AAS.
Was the the purpose you used it for? Is what you mean there that it had no benneficial effect on the PCT of a cycle lasting over 6 months?

I read that it has helped people with their libido. So for that aspect it did nothing for me, personally. As far as the other info that youre looking Im not the one who knows, sorry man....

i'm not sure you will find anyone who was brave enough to replace real pct drugs with tribulus to see if it works

I'm not even brave enough to do that.
I would still be running clomid and nolva after the cycle.
Just that I may run the trib durring the cycle, and that may increase the speed of pct, as IF it works, it would shorten the amount of time for recovery, as the testes would have not ceased all functioning, most probably down, but not out.
Ohh well, is 7.50 USD for 90 days worth at 750mg. I've wasted more money on other things.
I don't think it would hurt anything. May as well try adding it to the cycle.Last edited by meathead320; 11-16-2009 at 10:08 AM.

i dont see why not, I'd run it like HCG by starting it a few weeks from PCT and run right through PCT.
the only question is have you done an EXACT cycle before spare the tribulus to accurately compare results to a control

you can't replace HCG with tribulus. Tribulus doesn't do anything.

just to clarify I didn't mean that you ever would replace hcg with trib... but if you are going to use trib I would use it in the same manner as hcg would be used

Oh ok. I mean, it's completely fine to do this but tribulus doesn't really do much besides possibly boost libido. I'd just save my money or put it towards a solid supplement.

Right, I wont be skimping on the clomid either at the end.
Really its just the idea that even if tribulus does jack and shit for making any kind of gains, and is not enough alone for PCT.
Being that it is very cheap, if it can keep the testes from shutting down to 0%, and say even keep them 10% active, or even 5% active, that would just help a lot when I have to do pct later on.
But, I do have a perscription for test (I have relatively low natural test to begin with) so if all else fails, I'd just stay on an HRT dose.

trib has no effect on test levels.. it can raise libido ( which unfortunately does not mean a increase in test lelves )..
AlsoTrib has been shown to increase estrogen ..
