Strictly speaking, that isn't fasted cardio.

Leucine is fine. I would only take glutamine at night.

Took the words right out of my mouth. In fact you should just drop the other two amino's (valine and isoleucine) and strictly supplement with Leucine. It has the most impact on mTOR and I've read a few studies that say the 3 BCAA's will actually compete for absorption. Not looking for a debate here just telling you what's worked for me...much more pleased since I've switched to just straight leucine supplementation. I normally mix 5g leucine with about 50 oz. water before my morning fasted (I use this word looslely) cardio. IMO, helps preserve some muscle while shedding the fat.
Note: I sip on a mix of 10-15g glutamine and 10g leucine during my workout as I feel it keeps me anti-catabolic during an intense workout.Last edited by M302_Imola; 05-21-2013 at 06:02 AM. Reason: additional info

So imola you think that there isn't a benefit to taking all three bcaas? Or is there just no benefit in this situation cuz I take bcaas before bed

Yeah I no longer waste my money on BCAA's, straight L-leucine for me. It's cheaper and the only downside is it taste like shit...normally doctor up the taste with a squirt of Mio (flavored water enhancer). I've also seen studies that ingesting around 5g of Leucine before a whole protein meal has an increased amino acid uptake effect...essentially the leucine helps the body make more use out of the protein you ingest 10 mins after. You don't want to ingest the leucine at the same time as the protein due to absorption competition.
With ingesting such a large amount your body will most likely just piss out the excess (waste of product and money) and the body can also become desensitized with such a large amount being consumed at one time. Personally I see no need in going over 10g BCAA's...I believe this is the dose that's recommended with USP Labs Modern BCAA's.

Awesome info, thanks.
When do you take it? Before bed and before meals?

Agreed...before some meals (don't use every meal or desensitization can occur). I also like to use it pwo 10 mins before my protein shake.
Just saw pics of your veiny ass...you're way bigger than me so you tell me! lol jk I sip on 5g of leucine (in water) during morning fasted cardio as I believe it helps me spare muslce tissue.
