I really enjoy using B12, my mother would shoot it to us growing up just when she felt we needed a boost..its how I lost the fear of shots period.
Anyhow Ive used one of the sponsors B12 , not the highest quality of the forms, but enjoyed it and it was priced decently on sale.
my question is, is Vet grade B12 safe and effective for us? I know the questions has been asked, but just a bunch of mix opinions, would love to hear an answer from Austin being that Im sure it would be a very educated opinion considering all the informative posts Ive read.
It just would be much easier to get and so so cheap, I know other vet meds are safe for humans as far as antibiotics and stuff, so just wondering about B12
Thanks Austin in advance and for all the info on every subject possible...and thanks to anyone else who responds

Do we have a Methylcobalamin injection protocol up at all?
I did a search, but didn't come up with anything on methyl B12.

I got some vet grade B complex a while back.
While I have no fear of using it because its vet grade ( vet grade in the US does not worry me, people use Vet grade meds on 5 million dollar race horses) I do have a concern of the long term effects of injecting anything deep into my muscles once or twice a week for years and years.....
Even doing this with AAS worries me, however with Test and other AAS oral usage is not a good option. That said with vitamins I see no reason for IM injection when oral usage is so well tolerated and has a long proven track record of safety when used.

Currently doing 1000mcg cynacobalamin a week IM. Does improve my mood. Maybe I'll bump it up to two injections a week.

I have crohns disease. My doctor wanted to put me on b-12 injections. I told him I already take them myself using Vet grade b-12 for livestock. He thought it was funny but told me B-12 is B-12. He thought it was fine.

In my litle side of the world there is a shortage of B12 stock in pharmacies, dont ask me why as i don't have a clue to why. I love the feeling B12 gives me, maybe because the 1st time I took a b12 shot I was defficient in b12. Mentally and physically it makes me feel good
My doc prescribed me the only one he said there was stock available. Its adenosylcobalamin (or cobamamide) 10.000 ui per vial. He prescribed one shot every 3 months.
I could not find the 10.000ui, but did find 20.000ui. A few months ago took a full 20.000ui shot and got all the good effects and a bad bunch of acne as a side effect, mostly on back and shoulders. One month later, 2nd shot and took half vial only, still some acne but not as bad. My guess was that this strong amount of b12 was spiking my test therefore the acne, any thoughts?
My idea now is to use bac water and dilute the 20.000ui B12 powder so I can take 1 or 2 times a week, as the HCG im taking during cycle.
Is it safe to dilute and store for 90 days?Last edited by Mr.BB; 05-02-2014 at 04:59 AM.

You know I have skimmed over this several times and some how I kept missing this part.
There are several types of B12 that you can use. I'll list them in the most effective order:
1. Methylcobalamin
2. Adenosylcobalamin
3. Hydroxocobalamin
4. Cyanocobalamin
Of course after checking my B12 and B complex it is Cyanocobalamin.
So, I could only find injectable Hydroxocobalamin/B complex so I ordered some of that and also the Methylcobalamin 5000mg lozengers to see which on works better.
No wonder I never felt anything from the B12 or B complex.
Thanks again Austinite for providing this info and everyone else input.

Sorry to resurrect this thread. But I have ARTICLOX B12 amps. 2ml/1mg amps.
it says inject in fat or muscle, but, It kills in my quads. Is this the same B12 your talking about? I didnt see this listed in your list of b12's?
thank you!

Without knowing, I have the cyanocobalamin 1,000mcg per amp.
I have heard all kinds of dosages including the whole amp, once
per day.
What do you suggest?
What can I expect to see or feel?

HI Austinite,
Looks like Methylcobalamin in injectable form really hard to get here in the UK.
What would you chose if the only option would be a injectable Cyanocobalamin or a oral Methylcobalamin?
If oral NOW Food would be the ptrefered brand?Last edited by gorog25; 01-02-2017 at 12:14 PM.

You will be able to find injectable cobamamide, which is another active form of b12, as methylcobalamin.

The problem with cobamamide is it cannot be used by the body as methycobalamin, these are the two physiologically active B12 forms and we need both. I'd rather advise to stick with injectable cyanocobalamin but oral methylB12 is no less good and is also a powerful methyl donor comparing to cyano.

I take an oral form from garden of life.
Seems to work fairly well when it comes to appetite. I have been debating of using methyl injections though,if I can find any.
