as all of us know by now, ephedra is hard to get..i did a search on this topic, and found that i could actually make my own eca by stacking bronkaid,baby aspirin..and another stuff which i intend to replace by guarana.. my question is, what is the difference between ephedra and ephedrine? or no difference at all? and what's the main usage for bronkaid, and whether it is legal in most countries? AM I ABLE TO JUST GET IT FROM THE PHARMACY? another thing, does anyone here knows how long ephedra/ephedrine stays in the body, or even aspirin and stuff like that..how long before should i stop before a comp?

I'm going to try to keep this as simple as possible....

Ephedra is an herb. There are different types of ephedra herbs. The main chemical in ephedra is ephedrine, and there are different amounts of ephedrine in the different types of ephedra. Ephedrine is what we call an beta-adrenergic agonist.

That's as simple as I could put it, but it still looks kinda confusing.

Bronkaid is a treatment for bronkial asthma and one of the active ingredients is ephedrine sulfate. It is an OTC (here in the US anyway). Ephedrine sulfate is a decongestant that narrows blood vessels and a bronchodilator that relaxes the bronchial muscles.

I don't know how long ephedra or ephedrine stays in the body because there are different sources of ephedra with different concentrations but I do know that it stays in the body longer than methamphetamine (which is closely related to ephedrine).

ok thats a bit confusing..but at least i got a rough idea..i'm talking about a drug tested bodybuilding competition. will i be tested positive if i administer bronkaid, or in other words the ephedrine in bronkaid? so can bronkaid be purchased legally over the counter? appreciated ur reply...

yes... you will test positive for amphetamines while on ephedrine when an enzyme multiplied immunassay is used. a gas chromotography/mass spectrometry test will not give a false positive unless they are specifically looking for ephedrine or one of its metabolites. but since the EMIT is so easy and cheap to do, its usually the one that is used.

the plasma half-life of ephedrine can range anywhere from 3-6 hours (i think i've also heard somewhere that there have been studies with ranges of up to 11 hours) depending on urinary pH. Lets take the worst case scenario into account and pretend that you've got a urinary pH above 6 (this is when ephedrine has the longest half-life). After about 7 half-lives, the amount of ephedrine remaining in should be <1% of the original concentration. So doing the math, it'll take about 42 hours to get rid of about 99% of the drug.

although half-life is concentration independant, that 1% may be high enough for detection (if you've been taking high doses) or you may be one of the unlucky ones that actually has a half-life of 11 hours.

i'd give yourself AT LEAST 4 days after the last dose to clear the drug.

here in the US it's over the counter, but I don't know about where you're at. You have to look into that yourself. And just ask if you're not supposed to use ephedra or ephedrine.

ok guys...i've been to some pharmacies, and they don't even know what bronkaid is...i'm here at asia..is there a specific medical name for it? if i am not able to find it, what should i do? i need a fat burner...

It's made by Bayer, the same people that make Bayer asprin. There is no medical name for it that I know of.

oh gosh...don't think i'm able to get it here..is it fine if i stack guarana,white willow bark and green tea extract instead? what will the effects be compared to a true eca?

Cafeine causes a lot of the same reacts as ephedra does. So I would probably just look for cafeine pills or No-Doze, or something like that.
