To my understanding, with Arnold presses, you start with thumbs facing front delts on the bottom and rotate them in and together with a full squeeze at the top.

Yea it hits the same muscle. Twisting the wrists seems pointless.

May seem pointless, but seems a helluva lot harder to do.

I swapped over to the Arnold presses about a month ago. I get a much better burn in my front delts from the twisting motion. Arnold's also let you bring the weight down lower, I feel like I get more from the extra range of motion.

Start with palms facing your chest and twist them around 180degrees as you push up...

Targets more muscle, nails your front delts at the bottom of the motion especially with a nice pause and non-ballistic movements.
