cardio in afternoon?
is cardio the same in the afternoon as morning on empty stomach?

not hardly... if you have food in your system at all, your body will burn that as fuel before it starts fat burning so you're essentially skipping a meal... bad for muscle maintenance. In the AM on an empty stomach, your body burns pure fat if you keep your heart rate in the appropriate range.

i would lift in the morning the way my schedule works at about 730am and cardio would be at 430pm. The only reason i was thinking of doing it this way is because i train clients in the morning and if i did the cardio in the morning it would be after i had already had a meal and afternoon would be between meals.

on tues and thurs i dont eat from 1230pm - 430pm because of class so doing cardio at 430 pm before eating would not work? This is really the only option unless i get up at like 330 in the morning.

I am with Angel - this debate about cardio timing seems to be endless. Of course, 1st thing in AM is best - but afternoon or PM is better than missing it altogether.

The TIME you do your cardio is not important. The idea is to do it on an empty tank with somewhat deplenished glycogen stores, so you tap into your fat...
Not eating between 12:30-4:30, while not ideal, will produce the same effect as sleeping and doing cardio (fasting is what matters)... If you utilized protein and fat in your 12:30 meal, and fasted for 4 hours, you should be tapping into your fat as your energy source just the same!

this is what i do but i dont wait aslong becuase thats like 5 hours starving ..becuase to keep the fat burning goin u wouldnt eat after cardio for 45 -60 mins ..and cardio is 45min to 60..so dont have such a big gap inbetween meals..cardio is better then no cardio however so dont skip it
