rap no, pop no, rocky songs..maybe, but i like to listen to hard trance, or some type of hard club, the steady hard beat keeps u fired up, and the synths n buildups r craz, really gets my ass going, the gym i go to has sirius radio so its perfect, they have some live feeds of dj's n stations dedicated to this stuff, but its all personal pref, some liek rap, some metal, some nothing at all, but dl listen to your hard bye DHT, the adrenaline hardstyel mix, ITS GET U SO FIRED UP!!!!!!!!!

I find that music from headphones in my ears during sets disturbs my concentration and sense of balance.

hmm, heres a few bands i listen to when lifting
ac/dc
metallica
iron maiden
black sabbath
some rolling stones
slayer
pantera
megadeath
there are some new metal bands that are alright, lifting to disturbed is good. I just love the old music, hell ive even popped in some beatles when lifting. I dont think its a matter of getting you pissed because ive found when i am really pissed and i lift, my form is off and balance is impaired. But songs that give you energy with a bit of anger are great. Yall should try lifting to highway to hell. Ac/dc can keep you in a good mood while getting you pumped up. Start it up by the stones its good too.
