id say they are both pretty close in terms of gaining mass but i feel as though skull crushers and french presses do it for me ..

i'd say both are solid for mass imho......another great mass exercise is bench dips, with a dumbell inbetween your legs (be careful though!) if that hurts have a partner stack plates on top of your legs for added resistance

Yea F*ck kickbacks. They are useless. I also love skulls, but I am beggining to add more close grips as well. Don't forget about weighted dips as well, very good mass builder.

yeah i do tris on chest day,... and dips flame my tris big time...
but maybe thats because dips come after my close grips??? hehehehe

dont do both good choice for that program, otherwise you will burnout and follow the program incorrect.

was unaware of what kind of routine you were following, with that said i would go with close grip, as Doc said easier on the elbows and you can go heavier.

I like close grips and dips (triceps dips). Gotta agree with papi.

skull crushers are better in my opinion as they really work the triceps in a more practical functional way

Close Grip Benches allow you to put a heavy load on the triceps. Skull Crushers, or Tricep Extensions allow you to get a better targeted stretch for the triceps. Which is better? Both.
But I think you should normally include Close Grip Benches or Parallel Bar Dips (or other movements that allow you to push big weights while putting a lot of stress on the triceps) when really trying to add mass though - I have seen so many triceps turn into big beefy hams with them...

i love close grip declines. very good mass building excercise. weighted dips also add alot of mass on my tris for me

Close grip bench and weighted dips. I have added more mass in the months i started doing the than the years with french presses. I also do rope pushdowns and one-arm reverse pushdowns but not for mass.
