My Cardio Is Ridiculous!!!
HELP!! My endurance/cardio is pretty much not even existing. I try and run a few miles but after two mins. (seriously...two mins) my shins start to hurt and my legs burn. I dont have asthma. I have been lifting hard for about 2 years. I have less then a min rest between sets. And i can lift for hours without fatigue setting in. I just cant run. Or build my cardio up at all. Anyone have any advice. I tried the eliptical but damn that shit is boring. I will run for five mins tops before my legs just start to be unbearable (whether it be on a tread mill or street) I really want to work on my cardio so i can start some Muay Thai Training. (there is a great MMA gym right down the street from me) If you need any more info just ask ill provide. Thanks

I hate running. I get shin splits like a mofo, plus my knees hurt when I run or jog. I like to walk with a high incline or use the eliptical trainer.

Are you taking anything? When I ran SD, I got cramps and shin splints.
With shin splints, you just gotta run them out.

if you need to do cardio, who cares how boring it is, you need to do it.
i mix mine up into spin, running, eliptical, stepper, walking.
sometimes i do circuit of 5 minute sets. other days i will do 20 minute sets. other days i do 10km runs. or just spin sessions (painful but never boring as there is one chick at the gym who often does spin at same time who is awesome)
when you hate a cardio routine, trick yourself that you will just do 5 more minutes, then when that 5 minutes is over, forget it and trick yourself for another 5 again. my biggest tip - get a heart rate monitor so that you can see just how much your fitness is improving.
running - if you are doing treadmill try setting yourself goals.
2mins today
3 mins next time
4 mins the next time
etc
then when you plateau, go to increasing the speed.

Running is something I'll never do for cardio.
As well, cardio may be boring, but tough shit.
You either do the cardio and are bored and get it done, or you remain as you are w/bodyfat to lose complaining about how cardio is boring.

Cardio is the most important thing you can do for your self. Especially in the long term. When you get my age you worry more about your heart than any other muscle. Soldier get running. Something I wish I had done more of.

Start building up your cardio with some reading material or favorite music to listen to... and set some performance goals! When you have a goal to reach, it doesn't seem so redundant... it get's you more focused on pushing yourself to meet or break it. Cardio goals can be based on calories, distance, minutes, RPM's...
