    why are my traps sore

    did hit with wide grip behind the neck pulldowns yesterday and my traps are real sore does this excercise hit traps?

    yes they do hit the traps its not a major builder but will help alot with definition.

    Little more on the previous comment just FYI..You hit your traps because they are initiated when you raise your arms over your head both by slightly rotating the scapula(lower traps) and by lifting the (upper traps)clavicle so when you are in the eccentric phase (letting the bar go back up), you are having a lengthening of the traps, its holding against gravity so the weight doesnt slam down. Eccentric actions have more force and cause alot more DOMS. (delayed onset muscle soreness): maybe to indepth, but just an FYI
