Back workout turns into bicep workout

Wondering if anyone else has small lats and big guns that do all the work, looking for help on isolating the lats and keeping the bi's to a min., what can I do??

WHen doing any back exercise instead of gripping the bar or handle or wutever with thumbs wrapped around the bar, put your thumbs out so only your fingers are wrapped around the bar. THink of your hands as hooks. THe lack of the thumb takes emphasis off of the biceps to a certain degree and places it more on the back.

Yeah putting your thumb around the bar with the rest of your finger works, and also try not to grip the bar like your holding on for dear life. Loosen your grip to the point where your only applying enough pressure to bring the weight up and down.

Kill your bi's first so your back is forced to move the weight. NM im an Idiot!! Don't do that. But when I deadlift first, my back is already so dead that its done way before my bi's

Use straps. It will help you pull with your lats and not just your arms. Focus and concentrate on the back while doing a set. It is tough to do for some.. Out of sight, out of mind.

Wide grip over hand pull ups give me an awesome lat workout, i usually do at least 30 reps total, and they only minimally hit the bi's if you concentrate on going slowing all the way down and squeezing on the way up so your lats are pulling you up.

Use overhand rather than underhand grip on all your rows and pullups/downs. The grip itself is much less important than which direction your palms are facing.
