what is the correct rest- period
what is the correct rest- period to hit a muscle group. if i hit hit chest on day X should i wait 24 / 72 / or 96 hours until
i re hit that same muscle group.

Should wait atleast 72 hours imo, I wait 5 or 6 days before hitting the same muscle again. Depending on how you feel, the size of the muscle and how intense the last workout was are factors to take into consideration but I say a good 72 hours to heal up enough is decent.

at least 48 imo. i usually hit everything twice a week but that should be determined by your own body and how quickly it recovers. there is no right or wrong answer.
