    Elliptical - Far Burning Zone

I noticed when I am on the elliptical machine, there is a "fat burning zone" at 65% of my max heart rate, and an aerobic zone at 75%. If I am trying to lose weight, how important is it for me to stay within the fat burning zone? Its just too slow for me. Am I burning something else other than fat (like muscle) if I am in the aerobic zone?

    All this means is that

    1. when working in the aerobic capacity, your primary fuel source is glycogen (carbs) with a smaller portion coming from stored fat

    2. when working in the fat burning zone, your primary fuel source is fat with a smaller portion coming from carbs (glycogen)

So which is better, how bout doing both, By doing intervals of high and low intensity you'll burn a high percentage of fat and also get some cardiovascular benefit to boot.
