    Front Squat vs Back Squat

I read that front squats target the Quads more and glutes less. So do you guys think that front squats are as good as back squats, maybe even better to add some muscle? I'm considering switching to front squats for good, thou I'll do back squats every 3-4 weeks. What you guys think?

Do both - one targets quads more - thats all. IMO both have a good palce in a leg/lower body workout

I prefer hacks to fronts myself. If you do choose fronts but I would not recommend doing them in place of conventional squats.

So are you saying if I want to do front Squats I should substitude hacks with fronts? And why wouldn't you recommend substituting conventional squats with front squats?

Oh and BTW how many sets do you guys do for legs? I try to keep all my muscle groups to 12 Sets (except Bi's & Tri's). But since legs make up the biggest muscles in your body could you work them a little more than the rest? I've beendoing 12 Sets for legs too.

    6 sets squats (Inc. 3 warm-up sets)
    3 sets front squats
    3 sets leg extensions

Sounds good.. might want to throw the hacks in after front squat and leg exten. after leg press. Get the compound movements in before you isolate.

Try this routine droping your sets to

    4
then the rest 2 sets instead of three

then after you grull through it and feel like you need more, next time throw in that 3rd set

Every bodybuilders workout should include standard squats unless you have some serious injury concerns. The heavy compound lifts with large range of motion like squats, bench, and deads = overall body growth.

I guess if you don't want over all mass though... don't do heavy squats. I don't think that is pertinant to anyone here though.

    What do you mean??

Ok so that's what I did today:

    3 Warm-Up Sets back squats
    3 Sets Squats(back Squats)
3 Sets Fronts(holy shit they work your abs like crazy)
3 Sets leg extensions (fvck after leg extensions my quads were crazy pumped)
    3 Sets Leg Presses
    3 Sets Stiff Leg Deads
    3 Sets Leg Curls Lying
    3 Sets Leg Curls Sitting
4 Sets Seated Calf Raises super-setted with standing calf raises on stairs.

I didn't add Hacks in(tried them, didn't like them at all)
Next time I'll make sure to do compund movements first.

How about doing 1 set for quads then 1 set for hams?
    Example:
    3 Sets Squats
    3 Sets Fronts
    3 Sets SLDL
    3 Sets Leg Press
    3 Sets Leg Curl Lying
    3 Sets Leg Extension
3 Sets Leg Cruls Sitting ??

Just cuuz I had this incredible pump in my hams, but quads didn't feel so pumped anymore lol.
