    losing muscle

this is probably gonna have a lot of people wondering why but am looking for the best way to lose muscle mass and slim back down to a more natural sporting physic so to say. am 5'6 an weigh 12 stone not sure what my body fat is but its reasonably low. i have been lifting weights for about 8 yrs. i plyed football or soccer if people are american for the 1st 4yrs while working out. the last 4yrs i have exclusively lifted weights only and bulked up considerably. am now looking to play football as my main sport/hobby again so am just looking for advice on how to lose the excess muscle mass which will undoubtably hinder my speed, sharpness an overall fitness. am i best completely leaving weights alone an just runnin an playin football or woulde best to still get in the gym twice a week an lift very high rep'd sets with a lower weight. sorry for an spellin mistakes but the keys on this keyboard tend to stick.... cheers

I would say keep on lifting and do a cutting diet. You'll loose weight and lbm, while getting muscular quality.

why don't you just train for your football thing and your body will adapt to that?

If you really want to lose muscle fast it is easy: overtrain constantly, and feed yourself enough to repair muscles but not enough to completely repair them. they should get smaller quickly. but on a better note you will retain a lot of strength. I think this will work.
