How low?
I am confused on how low I should be going with my arms when doing a shoulder or bench press with dumbbells. A buddy of mine goes down as far as he possibly can and I usually have my elbows just past 90 degrees. If someone could clear that up for me it would be really helpful. Thanks

When I do benchpress with dumbells I imagine a bar between each dumbells and make it go just to my chest like a regular bench

all the way down for me and 3/4 up, to always keep tension on the delts.

Full rang of motion for me, in control, and to failure.

Depends on what kind of day I am having. If I am working heavier sets I will do full extensions, but if I am working more with volume then I will do 3/4th the range.

I'll try and explain it if your interested,
for example seated dumbbell shoulder presses:
the last 1/4 of the extension of the arm your using your triceps largely for that portion of the movement and the same goes for chest dumbbell presses. Its not a bad thing though, just personal preference to take some weight off the synergist muscles and keep it on my chosen body part.

Bring it down past 90 degrees and bring it up to almost lock out. Try doing it in the mirror and watch where it feels right. Use a light weight and just feel it out.

I go down as far as possible. One of the major benefits of dumbbell presses over bench presses is you can get a larger range of motion.
