Keep your session to 45mins ??

I was told once by someone who had spent the last twenty odd years in the gym that your test peaks between the first 25-45mins of a high intensity work out.Beyond that point your wasting your time.
His advice was to train each muscle group separatley on separate days in 45mins or less, the exception being arms, which he suggested super setting bi's and tri's on that day.Attempting 40secs rest between sets of isolation moves, and 90 secs between compounds.
    Five days on, two off.
    Any thoughts?

Personally, I like to rest between sets. I feel i can give max intensity if i'm not breathing too hard before starting another set. But I'm an old bull....

I have seen studies that tracked the T curve, but I wonder if muscle training efficiency can continue for a while since recovery and growth occur later? still , shorter high intensity does seem to work well for most..

Keeping your workout to 45-60 minutes seems to be ideal for most. I can't really speak to the science of it

I get to a point sometimes though where I just keep getting stronger and stronger and feel like super man around the 1hour to 1 1/2 hour mark.

What sort of rest periods are you using between sets?

i would need to research that claim about your test peaking between 25-45 min, if it is true then you have your answer basically. I would say keep it under 1 1/2hr so u don't overtrain. And know your body.
@renesis I absolutely know how you feel...this is when you are completely warmed up and everything is loose, BUT>>>> for us older guys this when we make sure not to over due it. believe it or not that high feeling like you can keep going and going...is when u take your winning and leave the gym(table). anything past this point will definitely give you diminishing returns in respect to joint wear. And it will catch up with your ASZ later on dowm the road.
